“Week 7 Phase 2 (24/11/25 to 28/11/25): Where Teaching, Learning, and Goodbyes Came Together”

Image
“Teaching is a journey where every lesson shapes not just the students, but the teacher too.” Week 7 of my Phase 2 teaching practice at GMGHS Thevally was a remarkable blend of academic focus, innovative teaching experiences, responsibilities beyond the classroom, and deep emotional reflections. As the Christmas exam drew closer, the week demanded effective revision strategies, diagnostic assessments, and meaningful consolidation of concepts across classes. Alongside teaching, I also became part of school events such as health check-ups, educational visits, and my last PT duty. The emotional weight of this week was undeniable because it marked the final stretch of my entire B.Ed teaching practice journey — a phase that shaped my growth as a teacher in countless ways.  Day 29 – 24/11/25 - Monday The day began with three scheduled periods in 8B Chemistry, 9B Physics, and 9A Physics. My first hour in 8B was fully dedicated to revision. I revisited all the major topics I had taught and...

"Teaching is not just about delivering content; it is about shaping understanding, one meaningful moment at a time." Week 6 of my Phase 2 teaching practice at GMGHS Thevally was one of the most eventful and fulfilling weeks of this internship. This week combined observation classes, active teaching, practical demonstrations, achievement tests, coordination duties, and continuous reflections. Each day unfolded with new learning, deeper connections with students, and opportunities to refine my teaching identity. From managing experiments to conducting assessments and supporting school programmes, the week brought a beautiful blend of responsibilities that strengthened my confidence as a budding teacher.   Day 24 – 17/11/25 - Monday On Day 24, I had two regular periods—8B Chemistry and 9A Physics—and I was fully prepared with lesson plans, slides, and activity materials. Early in the morning, I was informed that my optional teacher, Saija miss, would be observing my class. Thus,...

WEEK 5 – PHASE 2 TEACHING PRACTICE AT GMGHS THEVALLY (10/11/2025 to 14/11/2025)

“Teaching is not about answering questions, but about raising questions – opening doors for students in places they could not imagine.” Week 5 of my Phase 2 teaching practice at GMGHS Thevally proved to be a blend of academic responsibilities, assessments, classroom teaching, diagnostic practices, extracurricular duties and immense learning. This week, I stepped more deeply into the role of a teacher— not just instructing but assessing, diagnosing, guiding, correcting and supporting students in academic and co-curricular spaces. With tests, observation classes, rally preparations, Children's Day celebrations, quiz competitions, and daily classroom interactions, every day demanded adaptability, planning and reflective thinking. This week strengthened my belief that teaching is equally about understanding learners as it is about delivering content. Day 19 – Monday, 10/11/2025 The first day of the week started actively, with a test paper in 8B Chemistry during a first-hour substitutio...

PHASE 2 - WEEK 4: MOMENTS OF LEARNING AND CELEBRATION (03/11/2025 TO 07/11/2025)

"Teaching is not just about lessons in the classroom; it’s about the lessons we learn through every experience we live." The fourth week of my Phase 2 teaching practice at GMGHS Thevally, from November 5th to November 8th, 2025, was a week filled with enthusiasm, responsibility, and moments of pride. The week beautifully blended academics with cultural activities, as the Sub District Kalolsavam and other events added color and energy to the school atmosphere. Alongside these events, I continued my teaching with planned lesson executions, active student engagement, and real-life application-based learning experiences. The week was indeed a journey of learning, reflection, and joy. Day 14 –03/11/2025-  Monday I began the day well-prepared with lesson plans for 8B Chemistry and 9A Physics, along with extra plans for any substitutions. Since the Sub District Kalolsavam had begun, many students were absent, and we were also informed that there would be no afternoon classes due to ...

"The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see." The third week of my Phase 2 teaching practice at GMGHS Thevally was filled with diverse experiences, deeper learning moments, and increasing confidence in managing multiple classes and topics. By now, I had become more comfortable with the school environment, students, and the flow of academic and co-curricular activities. Each day brought new challenges—whether it was rearranging lessons due to sudden schedule changes or handling new classes—but these opportunities helped me grow as a teacher and refine my classroom management and instructional skills. Day 9 – 27/10/2025 - Monday On the ninth day of my teaching practice, I had two periods as per my timetable—6th hour in 8B Chemistry and 7th hour in 9A Physics. I came prepared with all lesson plans, slides, and materials for activities. However, due to an extended morning assembly and a class meeting, my Chemistry hour was shifted to th...

“Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions.” The second week of my Phase 2 teaching practice at GMGHS Thevally unfolded with enthusiasm, challenges, and new learning experiences. Having already settled into the school environment, I approached each day with more confidence and preparedness. This week, I handled both Physics and Chemistry classes for 8th and 9th standards, managed several substitutions, and took part in various school programmes like the KITES Camp and ICT Camp. Each class gave me deeper insight into the minds of learners and helped me refine my teaching techniques. Day 4 – 21/10/2025 - Monday The fourth day of my teaching practice started with full preparation — lesson plans, slides, and activity materials were all ready. After the morning assembly, I began the day by correcting notebooks from class 9A and preparing for my series of classes and substitutions. In 9A Physics, I taught "Acceleration due to Gravity” with a live demonstration of...
