Celebrating Mole Day: Uniting Chemistry Enthusiasts at KUCTE
"Science is the international language, and chemistry is its vocabulary."
On November 5, 2024, the Physical Science Association, Aurora, of KUCTE Thevally, enthusiastically celebrated Mole Day, commemorating Avogadro's Number (6.022 x 10^23). This event brought together students, faculty, and staff to honor the significance of chemistry in our daily lives.
The celebration kicked off with a painting competition where students showcased their artistic skills by creating vibrant paintings representing molecular structures, chemical reactions, and the importance of chemistry in everyday life. To further emphasize the significance of Mole Day, a thought-provoking speech highlighted the importance of Avogadro's Number, its applications, and the impact of chemistry on modern society. This was followed by a puzzle competition that challenged participants to solve brain-teasing puzzles related to chemistry concepts, testing their knowledge and problem-solving skills. English optional was the winner for painting competition whereas natural science optional banked the first prize in puzzle competition and second in painting competition.
The objective of the celebration was to inspire students to explore the fascinating world of chemistry, foster critical thinking, and encourage scientific curiosity. Through these engaging activities, Aurora aimed to create an interactive platform for students to delve into the world of chemistry beyond textbooks.
Mole Day at KUCTE was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts of Aurora members, participants, and faculty. We look forward to future events that promote scientific awareness and enthusiasm.
