ENDURING SPIRIT: TITIKSHA B.ED COLLEGE UNION INAUGURATED

On November 8, 2024, our B.Ed college witnessed the grand inauguration of its union, Titiksha, symbolizing endurance and forbearance in the face of life's challenges. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Kollam Madhu, Deputy Mayor of Kollam Corporation, who inaugurated the union. Dr. Rani P mam, music teacher at SN Women's College, Kollam, launched the Arts Club, while Colonel S. Dinny, retired Rajput Regiment member, inaugurated the Sports Club.

The occasion also honored the toppers of the previous academic year with merit awards, recognizing their academic excellence. Principal Lethadevi Amma Teacher delivered the welcome speech, while Aparna, Chairperson of the union, presented the presidential address. Glity, General Secretary, extended the vote of thanks.

The felicitation ceremony included heartfelt messages from Staff Secretary Sinimol miss and Staff Advisor Saija miss, whose guidance and support have been invaluable to the union.

As I took on the role of anchor, alongside Aardra, I discovered a new facet of myself. Anchoring the Titiksha union inauguration helped me grow beyond my comfort zone, honing my communication skills and confidence. I learned to think on my feet, adapting to unexpected moments with ease. The experience taught me the value of teamwork, coordination, and precise timing.

Beyond anchoring, I was thrilled to participate in a vibrant group dance performance, showcasing our college's talent and energy. The cultural extravaganza was a testament to the students' creativity and dedication.

The event's success was a collective effort of students, faculty, and guests. As I reflected on the experience, I realized that Titiksha's enduring spirit had become an integral part of me – a reminder to face challenges with resilience and determination.

This first week was a blend of learning, challenges, and excitement as I navigated through teaching practices, interactions with students, and adapting to the school environment. Day 1 - 14/07/25 - Monday It was a mix of excitement and nerves as I took a 5E model class on "Atoms" for 8B students in Chemistry. I used simple analogies and experiments to convey the concept, and the pupils were highly interactive as I encouraged their participation. I felt a sense of accomplishment completing the lesson plan despite struggling a bit with using the whiteboard (not being used to it before). Week 6 of my teaching practice - AN EXAMINATION WEEK (18/08/2025 TO 22/08/2025)

“Examinations not only test knowledge, but also patience, responsibility, and teamwork.” The sixth week of my teaching practice, from 18th August to 22nd August 2025, marked a change of pace as the Onam examinations began at school. The vibrant classroom atmosphere was replaced by a quieter, more focused environment. Instead of regular teaching, our responsibilities shifted to assisting with examination duties, distributing question papers, and ensuring smooth conduct of exams. This week gave me a new perspective on the administrative and organizational side of school life, beyond teaching and learning . Week 9 of my teaching practice was a vibrant mix of classroom learning, innovative teaching strategies, school events, and hands-on experiences. From the exciting Sasthramela and interactive diagnostic tests to delivering the last lesson plans in Physics and Chemistry, every day brought new challenges and learning opportunities. This week also included school celebrations like Swachhata Hi Seva, Yuvajanolsavam competitions, and the highly anticipated Sports Day, which tested our coordination, teamwork, and organizational skills. Amidst lessons, experiments, games, and events, I felt a deep sense of connection with my students and colleagues, and each day reinforced my love for teaching and creative engagement .
