CULTIVATING LIFE SKILLS: A WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
"The art of communication is the language of leadership." - James Humes
As part of our B.Ed curriculum, we had the privilege of attending a Capacity Building Programme on June 5,2025. This semester's programme focused on Life Skill Development, with a specific emphasis on communicative and interpersonal relationships. Our faculty of Philosophy, Kochu Thresia Miss, led the workshop, sharing her expertise and guiding us through a engaging and interactive session.
The workshop was designed to equip us with the essential life skills required to navigate complex social situations and build strong, meaningful relationships. Kochu Thresia Miss facilitated discussions, thoughtful and entertaining activities that helped us understand the importance of effective communication, active listening, and empathy in interpersonal relationships.
Throughout the workshop, I found myself reflecting on my own communication style and interpersonal relationships. The activities and discussions helped me identify areas for improvement and provided me with practical strategies to enhance my communication skills.
One of the most valuable takeaways from the workshop was the importance of self-awareness and self-reflection in building strong relationships. Kochu Thresia Miss emphasized that effective communication begins with understanding ourselves and being aware of our own emotions, values, and biases.
Overall, the Capacity Building Programme on Life Skill Development was a resounding success. I am grateful to Kochu Thresia Miss for sharing her expertise and to our institution for providing us with such valuable learning opportunities.
