"SPRINTING TOWARDS EXCELLENCE: ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET AT KUCTE KOLLAM"

"Sports do not build character. They reveal it." - John Wooden

On January 31, 2025, KUCTE Kollam hosted its Annual Athletic Meet, a vibrant celebration of speed, strength, and teamwork. As a B.Ed student, I was thrilled to participate in this event, which brought together students, teachers, and staff in a shared spirit of competition and camaraderie.

The day began with a march past competition, where our three houses - Mars (red), Jupiter (blue), and Neptune (green) - vied for top honors. Jupiter emerged victorious, followed closely by Neptune and Mars. Our principal, Dr. Lethadeviamma Miss, inaugurated the event, and prizes were distributed for games like chess, carroms, and badminton, which were held prior to the main event.

The athletic events were a testament to the students' enthusiasm and competitive spirit. From 100m and 200m races to shotput, javelin, and long jump, every student participated with zeal. I was part of the Mars house and took part in several events, including the 100m race, 1500m walk, long jump, javelin, and shotput.

Throughout the event, our teachers played a huge role in supporting and encouraging us. Special mention must be made of our Physical Education faculty, Biju Sir, who was our strength and pillar of support throughout the event.

The success of the event was due in part to the various committees that worked tirelessly behind the scenes. I was part of the prize distribution committee, and I'm proud to say that we did our job to the best of our abilities.

As a B.Ed student, this experience has taught me the importance of promoting physical education and sports in schools. It's not just about winning or losing, but about building character, teamwork, and discipline.

The Annual Athletic Meet at KUCTE Kollam was an unforgettable experience, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it. Congratulations to Jupiter house on their well-deserved victory! I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to my fellow Mars house members on a game well played, and to Neptune house on their impressive second-place finish. It was an honor to compete alongside such talented and dedicated individuals.
