"BREAKING FREE FROM PLASTIC: OUR NSS CAMPAIGN FOR A GREENER TOMORROW"
"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it." - Robert Swan
On February 24, 2025, our NSS unit KL07 157 of KUCTE THEVALLY embarked on a mission to make our campus and its surroundings plastic-free. As part of this campaign, we cleaned the campus, collecting all the plastic waste and disposing it properly. It was a humbling experience to see the amount of plastic waste that had accumulated, and it made us realize the importance of taking immediate action.
As I participated in the campaign, I was struck by the enthusiasm and dedication of my fellow volunteers. We worked together, collecting plastic bottles, bags, and other waste, and sorting them for proper disposal. It was a team effort that not only helped to clean our campus but also raised awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution.
The campaign was not just about cleaning up the campus; it was also about making a personal commitment to reduce our use of plastics. We created posters against plastic pollution and pasted them around the campus, serving as a reminder of our pledge to reduce, reuse, and recycle. From that day onwards, we made a conscious effort to avoid using single-use plastics and to promote sustainable practices in our daily lives.
The experience was eye-opening, and it made me realize the impact that individual actions can have on the environment. I am proud to have been a part of this campaign, and I hope that it will inspire others to take action against plastic pollution.
