OCTOBER 2ND – NSS CAMPUS CLEANING DRIVE AT KUCTE THEVALLY

“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.” – Howard Zinn.

On October 2nd, our B.Ed college, KUCTE Thevally, organized a campus cleaning program led by the NSS unit, marking a meaningful way to honour Gandhi Jayanti and instill a sense of social responsibility among students. As part of this initiative, all of us trainees were divided into groups and assigned different areas of the campus to clean. From sweeping corridors to dusting benches and arranging classrooms, every corner of the college received our attention.

I was assigned a section of the campus along with some classrooms. As we worked together, I felt a strong sense of camaraderie among my peers. It was motivating to see how collective effort could make a visible difference in such a short time. Cleaning our own classrooms was particularly satisfying—I felt a sense of ownership and pride in making the learning spaces neat and welcoming.

The college also ensured that we were well taken care of during the program, providing us with food and refreshments which added to the overall positive experience. Beyond the physical cleaning, the program made me reflect on discipline, community service, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness, not just in our surroundings but as a lifelong habit. The day ended with a sense of accomplishment, teamwork, and fulfillment, leaving me motivated to contribute more actively to similar initiatives in the future.
